Bensard Scholarship

Denver Police Officers Foundation

Jaques and Alexisa Bensard Medical Education Scholarship Award

In 2009, Retired Tech. Jacques Bensard and his wife Alexisa created a scholarship to assist with medical education tuition for children and grandchildren of active and retired Denver police officers. The scholarship was their way of acknowledging a generous financial gift given to their son, Denis, by Dr. Lawless in memory of his father, Captain Lawless of the Denver Police Department. Today, Dr. Denis Bensard is a recognized expert in the medical field in Denver.

The Denver Police Officers Foundation is grateful to Jacques Bensard for continuing the scholarship in memory of his lovely wife Alexisa, who was very proud to have put the program together. Since 2009, they have helped numerous children and grandchildren of Denver police officers, contributing thousands of dollars toward their medical education.
